Harishchandragad

Harishchandragad-:


Harishchandragad is very popular place for trekking in Maharashtra and also one of the famous Bhandardara tourist places.
It is elevation of about 4670 feet.The fort has the second highest mountain in Maharashtra.

Before going we know -:


Harishchandragad is a hill fort in the Ahmednagar district of Maharashtra.
The distance between Mumbai to Harishchandragad is 144 kilometers and form pune 123 kilometers.


History -:


Kokan kada is the most interesting point on Harishchandragad.It was a fort built during the rule of Kalchari Empire.


Harishchandragad was captured by the Marathas in 1747 from the Mughals.
Strong fortifications of this fort have multiple entry routes such as the Junnar gate route, Sadhale ghat, Nalichi wat, and Indore Waat.

Lohagad

Lohagad Fort -:

Lohagad Fort is located near Malavali village.Lohagad is a popular trekking and tourist spot in Maharashtra.

Before going we know -:


Lohagad Fort is located 10 km away from Lonavala.and 101 kilometer away from Mumbai. This fort 52 kilometer northwest of pune. We should be going by railway or private car but more comfortable by. 

History -:


This forts were built in the 18th century.
The three gates of the fort are connected to the main entrance gate, known as the Delhi Gate.
Lohagad fort has four doors called Ganesh Darwaja, Nayaran Darwaja, Hanuman Darwaja and Maha Darwaja.


Vinchu Kata is the famous spot of Lohagad.

Raigad Fort

Raigad Fort -:


Raigad Fort is one of the most delightful places to visit in Maharashtra. 
In this fort Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj the legendary Maratha warrior laid the foundation of the Hindavi swarajya, a term referring to self-rule of Hindu. 
 this fort comes under the Archaeological survey of India(ASI).

There are many reasons why this fort should be a must-go place on your list.
Raigad Fort is 166 kilometer from Mumbai and 137 kilometer from pune in Raigad district,Maharashtra.

History -:


This fort is renamed from Rayri to Raigad by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.There are approximately 1400-1450 steps leading to the fort.
The fort once served as the capital of Chhatrapati Shivaji maharaja, the Great Maratha king, in the 1674.
There are many gateways in the fort namely, the Nagarkhana Darwaja,Mena Darwaja, and Palkhi Darwaja,Maha Darwaja which is the main entrance to the fort.

Ajinkyatara Fort

Ajinkyatara Fort-:


The Fort of Ajinkyatara is one of the most important pillars in the history of Maharashtra. Ajinkyatara is an ancient hill fort situated on one of the seven mountains surrounding the city of Satara in the Sahyadri Mountains of Maharashtra. It is one most popular tourist attractions in Satara.

This 900 year old hillfort is a perfect weekend gateway from pune. This fort is 120 kilometers from pune and 4 kilometers away from Satara.
Main attractions of this place are hiking, trekking.

History -:


The Ajinkyatara fort is a major historic place of Maharashtra.
This historical  structure was created by Bhoj Raja II of Panhala during 1178 to 1193. It has two major doorways, on the inside the fortress contains temples of Hanuman, Devi Mangalai and Mahadev and seven lakes and a well.

Panhala Fort

Panhala Fort-:

There are some of forts around Kolhapur like Panhala,Mahipalgad,Kalanandigad,
Vishalgad.
The fort has witnessed many up heavals and battles and is located around 20 kilometers from Kolhapur.

Before going we know -:


Panhala lies on the Sahyadri Mountain Range and is situated in the Kolhapur district of Maharashtra.
Panhala Fort located 20 kilometers from kolhapur.

History -:

This fort had built by King Bhoja between 1178-1209.The fort is known for the battle of Pavan Khind fought between the Maratha king, Sardar Baji Prabhu Deshpande and the Mughal emperor, Siddi Masud of Adil Shah.
The fort had three magnificent double walled gates,the three important gates to gain access to the fort.
The fort also has mausoleums of Jijabai.
The famous Marathi poet Moropanta (1729-94Ad) was bron and brought up at Panhala.

Purandar Fort

Purandar Fort-:


The Purandhar Fort is a popular tourist destination near Pune. Purandar fort is one of the most attractive forts.
Purandar Fort is a famous tourist attraction and a place of historical significance near Pune.It is a wonderful destination for every trekker.

The fort structure actually stands 700 metres tall from the foothills to the hilltop.

Purandar fort located in saswad village in Maharashtra.This fort is 55 kilometers away from pune city.
Purandar Fort is the birthplace of                Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, the son Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.There is also a church at the Purandar fort.
This fort under control by Army unit. 
Cameras and mobile phones are now not allowed on the fort and no one can stay longer than the stipulated 9 am to 5 pm period.


History -:

Purandar fort has witnessed many tussles between Shivaji and Aurangzeb. This fort saw the rules of Bahamani, Nizamshashi and Adilshahi. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj captured this fort without fighting, In 1665 AD.
This fort used by the NCC (National Cadet Corps ) academy for training purposes. The fort is a hotspot for paragliders.
